We used it with our third and enjoyed it very much, were delighted to start and finish sooner than we had with traditional delayed toilet learning.

We poured the contents in the toilet, rinsed the potty and poured the rinse water in the toilet too. After poos, we used a disinfectant. Wipes didn't exist at the time, but I'd use them today if I had another baby.

A few other resources are the “Infant Potty Training” book and “Potty Whispering” DVD.

Here are a few links for anyone wanting to read up on the practice:

We didn't start potty training the twins until they were around 2 1/2 and one of them learned really fast and the other took a bit longer. The extra messiness is nasty but obviously worth it when they figure it out :)

We just used a wipe to clean out the inside of the potty seat and then rinsed it in the tub.

Oh, we also used a sticker chart when they successfully peed/pooped and that was a great motivator!

That's happened to me several times, and I also think I'm normally pretty hard to get mad. Mostly it also revolved around getting the kids dressed and they would fight the whole time or just push my buttons. I remember one exchange:

Kid: I want to wear spiderman
Me: (gets spiderman shirt)
Kid: I don't want that
Me: (puts spiderman back, gets other shirt)
Kid: No I don't want that
Me: Then you pick a shirt
Kid: I want spiderman
Me: (picks different spiderman shirt)
Kid: I dont want spiderman
Me: ARGH

Oh no! I am not sure how legitimate it is for babies, but I am herbal vaporizing queen! When and if I get sick, I just rustle up some thyme to help ease my coughing and boost my immune system. I couldn't imagine how or why that would be harmful to babies, outside of the scent being too strong or overwhelming to their sensory systems, yeah?

Oh, don't feel bad. 8 lbs is NOTHING compared to some mom's out there who have gained 30lbs and more! I have knee problems too and sometimes it's a matter of just feeling confident and good to keep the workout mojo going. I actually like vaporizing st. john's wort when i feel like all my responsibilities and personal goals are weighing down on me or out of reach. Helps for me.

Hi Cathy, you're never too old! I lost the veterans title in a local 5K series last week to a woman of 48 (she did 17.58 which is indecent).

Sounds like you need to do some specific exercises to strengthen the muscles round your knee. The PT should help. I remember doing some such down the gym in the past. You will need to do some exercises where you push against some resistance with the muscles that need strengthening.

good luck

Thanks for the link, Rebecca.. she describes it a lot better than me. I like this part especially: "Today, should I be dumb enough to actually admit to someone that my four-year-old is playing alone in our fully-six-foot-fenced back yard while I'm inside writing this, I'll, no doubt, be told the story about that one kid. You know the one, somewhere, who was playing in his back yard (full-nine-foot-fence with barbed wire on top) and someone landed by helicopter in the yard and kidnapped him."
